The Bread Winner, the Mustache, and the Frozen Pizza

Life in a bakery can be busy, messy, and oh-so-sweet—but around here, it’s also full of laughs. Between the flour clouds and pie crusts, boss lady Kenna  has a way of reminding us not to take things too seriously.

The other night, after a marathon day of baking, we were too tired to do anything fancy for dinner. Out came the frozen pizza (yes, even bakers take the shortcut sometimes). And as we opened the box, Kenna spotted a cardboard pop-out mustache. A few minutes later, she was strutting around the kitchen with it on, hamming it up like she was the “distinguished gentleman of dough.”

We laughed until we cried. And that’s when it hit us: our bakery may be built on breads, cookies and pies, but the real secret ingredient around here is humor.

Kenna, in particular, is a natural at sprinkling in the puns. I affectionately refer to them as “McKenna’isms,” and honestly, we might need to start keeping a whole log of them. The other day she was talking about what’s important to her in a future partner, and without missing a beat she said:

“Well, of course I’ll be the bread winner!”

Classic McKenna.

And honestly? That’s the kind of energy we bring into Little River Baking Company every day. We believe that food should taste good, yes—but it should also make you smile, spark a memory, and maybe even inspire a pun or two along the way.

So whether it’s a loaf of sourdough, a pie made with love, or just a frozen pizza with a mustache disguise, we’re here for all of it—the work, the joy, and the laughter baked right in.

Now we mustache you one last question: what’s your funniest “we’re too tired to cook” moment?Drop it in the comments—we’d love to laugh along with you!
