A Little Baker in the Making ❤️

Every bakery has a story.

Ours didn't begin with a big business plan or a logo. It started in a home kitchen, with tiny hands, oversized aprons, and one very determined little girl who believed the best way to help was to lick the spatula clean.

These photos are some of my favorites.

McKenna couldn't have been more than three or four years old, proudly holding the mixing spatula after helping me bake. Judging by the chocolate all over her face, I'm not entirely convinced much of the batter actually made it into the bowl. But that's beside the point.

What mattered was that she wanted to be there.

She wanted to stir.She wanted to pour.She wanted to "help."

Looking back now, I realize we weren't just making dessert that evening. We were quietly building something much bigger.

We were creating memories.We were building traditions.And without either of us knowing it, we were laying the foundation for what would one day become Little River Baking Company.

Today, McKenna is no longer the little girl covered in chocolate. She's an incredibly talented baker whose creativity amazes me every day. Together we've spent countless early mornings mixing dough, shaping loaves, scooping cookies, and sharing our love of baking with our community.

Our recipes have become more refined over the years.

Our kitchen has become much busier.

But one thing has never changed...

The joy.

Because baking has never just been about bread or cookies. It's about slowing down long enough to create something with your hands. It's about sharing it with the people you love. It's about laughter, flour-covered countertops, and yes... occasionally finding chocolate on someone's nose.

Every loaf we bake carries a little piece of that history.

So whenever you purchase artisan bread or a sweet treat from Little River Baking Company, know that you're getting more than fresh baked goods. You're tasting years of family traditions, countless memories, and a dream that began with one little girl proudly holding a spatula almost bigger than she was.
